Mental health from the perspective of Social work.
Our people have tendency to do or take any field as their own views. I am writing my view according to my knowledge level and experience.
As per my understanding the so called institutionalised care should change immediately and try to give care through the hand community.
Why I am saying this
The health care system should not give special label to any person ( like patient,Clients etc). We have to be very careful about what we are doing. For the caregivers or others it is easy that access the hospital,Ngo what ever. But after the admission what is happening is very important. He may loos address, he may loos his earlier surrounding because people are waiting for one shelter to put their own person with mental illness. This we can see in the "old age home" after some age their children is putting the parents into that home and the are going.
What was earlier in Mental health
What is the difference between the patient and prisoners. We can see after getting into jail that person want remove his dress and other belonging and he wanted to wear the shirt pants which that jail provides.
Same thing we have seen in Mental health setting like earlier patient has to wear dress with number and after they will known by that number patient. belongings like family adresss the are loosing.
Social Work perspective how much relevance to mental health
Social Work work poorly related with making indipendend society.
Social service can provide only acute care services. If we have to think about

Aftercare
We should go with social work only. More than a discipline it is good philosophy. In other word
How to do Social services in productive way.
After getting mental illness that person may or may not or should develop poor functionality.
In this context we cant give only acute service. After that we have to very careful that, this person should monitor by expert and don't allow him to go unproductive way of life like taking tablet and sleep. It's very easy to give anti psychotic or give anti depresent more that we have give more important to functionality of them by giving activity schedule or any structured way to direct them to live in productive way.
Actually this is social work philosophy in Mental health field.
We can correct the system such that the patient got addressed by his own name and should subject to the surveillance of authorized person ells with aesthetic qualities. Finding the functional part of an impaired personality is a hard task, but once we found that we can use the human resource of the patients in a positive way.
